Jason McCullagh - Head Strength Coach
Jason was a volleyball athlete through high school, club (Ottawa Mavericks) and college (Humber). After he stopped playing, he coached at the 16U and 18U levels with the Maverick Volleyball Club.
In 2005, Coach McCullagh architectured the Strength and Conditioning Program for the Maverick Volleyball Club as they kicked off their High Performance Programs. While his focus was Volleyball athletes for many years, he also works with Soccer, Baseball and Hockey athletes on a regular basis.
His approach is very much keeping things simple where every exercise has a reason to be there, no ‘fluff’ Coach McCullagh’s focus on building long term relationships and development strategies with athletes and their parents will improve performance, reduce injury potential and educate athletes at every touch point.
In 2015 Coach McCullagh founded Mettle Sports Training with the purpose of reaching more volleyball athletes in the province.
Since then they have become the official long term athlete development partner of the OVA and had the opportunity to work with 1000’s of Athletes across the province.
Coach McCullagh's plan is to create a long term athlete development framework for Kingston Rock to improve athletic performance and reduce injury occurrence. Every athlete will have access to tools and education around proper warm up, recovery, nutrition, hydration, sleep and training habits.

Jordan Rouse - Strength Coach
Jordan is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and co-owner of United Strength & Wellness. By creating a productive and welcoming training atmosphere, he makes training accessible for his community no matter their experience. Jordan appreciates the role that training plays in an athlete's long term athletic development. In order to encourage long-lasting habits in his athletes, Jordan teaches fundamental concepts like technical proficiency, recovery, stress management, and programming.
Josh Edwards - Strength Coach
Josh Edwards is a professional personal trainer with Goodlife Fitness, assistant coach of the RMC Mens Volleyball team, and Strength and Conditioning coach with the KRVC. Awakening the greatness in others is Josh's truest calling; turning what once seemed impossible, into reality, and repeating this process. Having personally experienced professional volleyball in Holland, as well as spending two seasons with Volleyball Canada's FTC and NEP respectively, Josh brings a unique perspective of national level volleyball performance knowledge, with an in depth comprehension of the stress-adaptation cycles of programming, in which he acquired through his Human Kinetic studies at the University of Windsor. Josh was named an Academic All Canadian as a two sport athlete (Volleyball and Track & Field) in his first year of studies at UWindsor, later to be recognized as an OUA All Star for Men's Volleyball in two different seasons. Personal success lead Josh to spend two seasons coaching his former high school senior boys volleyball team (KCVI 2013 & 2014), as well as having worked with elite level high school volleyball players in Windsor Ontario, as a strength and conditioning coach for the Volleyball Canada Center of Excellence (2015/16). Whether an athlete is looking for sustainable injury free play, or is aspiring to reach the next level of performance, Josh offers holistic support to make it happen.
