Our Approach

Utilizing Sport Canada's long-term athlete development model as it's compass, Kingston Rock offers a breadth of volleyball programming for youth in Kingston and the surrounding communities.
Kingston Rock's High Performance Program is designed for athletes aged 14-18 who are driven to be the best they can be, and have aspirations to play at the next level.  Instruction/coaching in skill development, game tactics, strength and conditioning, mental performance and fortitude, as well as nutrition are included.  The sport of volleyball will be used as a vehicle to teach life lessons in the areas of leadership, critical thinking, teamwork, dealing with adversity and success, the importance of hard work and tenacity, effective communication, ethics and integrity, loyalty and more.
Our development program* caters to athletes 13-16 years of age, who wish to develop/improve their skills, game understanding, and want to compete on the OVA club circuit, for fun, fitness, skill and tactical development and social interactions.  Participants in this program will generally practice twice each week and compete in 4 to 5 tournaments per season.
*Teams in the development program will be offered based on demand and pending the availability of Coaches and facilities.
The House League targets 9-13 year olds and offers a 90 minute program weekly.   Sessions are approximately 8-9 weeks in length offered in the fall and winter (Separate sessions).
The Kingston Rock Beach program will operate in the spring and summer with coaching, training and competition opportunities for all ages and skill levels.
